Countdown to Lent…Ash Wednesday is coming! Lent begins February 18th

The Lenten season is upon us, and with it, many traditions. For instance, though Lent is 40 days, echoing Jesus’ 40 days in the desert, the actual number of days until Easter is 46. But the six Sundays, with the celebration of Eucharist echoing Resurrection, traditionally have been considered days on which fasting is not appropriate, so Lent runs Monday to Saturday (six days) for six weeks, and when you add the first four days, from Ash Wednesday to Saturday, the total is 40 days from Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday. Traditions abound. Another example: The ashes used on Ash Wednesday were made from palm branches blessed in previous years on Palm Sunday. Cherish the traditions handed down to you.

ARISE Season 4, “New Heart, New Spirit” is open to everyone. There are no pre-requisites and it does not matter  if you didn’t participate in previous seasons. This Lent, join ARISE Season 4, “New Heart, New Spirit”, and explore the need for healing and reconciliation with others in a mall faith sharing community.

Why should I sign up for ARISE Together in Christ?

  • To know God better
  • To grow spiritually
  • To meet new people
  • To talk about God
  • To improve ourselves
  • To put faith into action
  • To change the way we see the world
  • To improve relationships

We are all called to be Disciples of Christ.  ARISE will provide a concrete and practical means of evangelization. We will recognize the moments in  our lives where we have evangelized through words and actions, and will learn how to commit ourselves to evangelization through acts of charity or acts of justice. Why not be part of something that promises to have a positive effect on the renewal of the Catholic Church and on ourselves? Sign up for ARISE Season 4 today!
