ADVENT DAY OF CONFESSIONS 2018

“Prepare your hearts.  Prepare the Way of the Lord”.  The Catholic Parishes of North Bay present an Advent Day of Confessions on Tuesday, December 11 from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption.  Priests will be available all day for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  As we prepare for Christmas, this is a great opportunity to encounter God’s mercy through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Confirmation Information Night

Wednesday, November 21 at 6:30 pm

in St. Peter’s Parish Hall.  Candidates and parents are asked to attend this meeting.  Sponsors are also welcome.  Please include a copy your Baptism Certificate with registration form, available from the Parish Office or on the church website www.stpetertheapostle.ca  Candidates requesting the Sacrament of Confirmation are presumed to be in Grade 7 or 8 (or older) and to have previously received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.  If you are missing one or more of these sacraments, please call the Parish Office at 705-472-1817.

New Evangelization Summit 2018

Thanksgiving Food Collection October 9, 2016

Every Thanksgiving we make a special appeal to our parishioners to help replenish our Parish Food Cupboard. With winter fast approaching more hard times will be upon many families. We invite you to participate in this parish project by bringing a donation of non-perishable food items to one of our Thanksgiving weekend Masses or to the Parish Office at your convenience. Canned Foods: soups, vegetables, potatoes, tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, stews (beef, chicken, Irish, etc.), canned meat (salmon, tuna, Spam, Klik, etc.), fruits (peaches, pears, cocktails, etc.) Other Foods: peanut butter, jam, rice, instant potatoes, macaroni & cheese, soup mix, cereals (hot & cold), jello, drinking boxes, powdered milk, spaghetti & pasta, beans, kidney beans, etc. Thank you for your generosity!

Fall Tea, Bazaar, Penny Sale and Silent Auction

We are now making preparations for the Fall Tea, Bazaar, Penny Sale and Silent Auction which will be held on October 22, 2016 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Cost for luncheon is $7/adult; $4/children under 10; and free for children less than 5 years of age. We invite all parishioners to help us. We are in need of prizes for the Penny Sale & Silent Auction table. Prizes (new items only) can be small appliances, electronic gadgets, hand crafted items, glassware, china, ceramics, personal gift packs, boxed games, hard covered books, framed pictures, sporting gear equipment or memorabilia, tool sets, bedding & sheet sets, blankets, Halloween & Christmas decorations, gift certificates for services and restaurants, and monetary donations. We also need donations of knitting, sewing, craft items and baking for the Bazaar. Please bring your penny Sale & Silent Auction prizes before October 19th to the Parish Office or call Marcelle at 705-475-1851 for pick up. All baked goods and food items are to be delivered to the church on Friday, October 21st between 9AM- 1PM, and morning of Saturday, October 22nd. This project is our ONLY FUND RAISER for the year. The proceeds go to many deserving charities. We know we can depend on St. Peter’s parishioners to help us make this Bazaar a HUGE SUCCESS!
